Discipline. Discipline. Discipline. These words changed my life. Of course, I realize this word is not new. But for me, it didn’t matter. It was almost as though the word didn’t exist because I never acted on what the word meant. In the websters dictionary is says:
dis·ci·pline (dĭsˈə-plĭn)
noun
- Training expected to produce a specific character or pattern of behavior, especially training that produces moral or mental improvement.
This is not an easy word. Whenever I feel I am full of excuses for not getting things done…even following my own plan, I adhere to the big “D” word. It saves me every time. I get going on what I need to do in order to follow the goals I set for myself. Quite honestly, when I have in my goals to watercolor once a week, do my laundry, or deep clean an area in my home that needs to get done, sometimes I’d rather die first. Being disciplined keeps me out of the excuse lane and into a world I want to be in… being organized and living out my dreams. And the only way to do this is, is with discipline. Don’t get me wrong. Not doing what you have planned once in a while and resting instead or even just changing plans, is normal. It’s when it’s the rule rather than an exception, is when it becomes a problem.
So whenever you feel your life is one big excuse or even it’s in the small, little excuses, use the big “D” word and change your life, too!
