If unschooling is something you want to try with your homeschooled children and yet still feel uncertain…my first tip is to relax… whenever we change something we do and embark on the unfamiliar we tend to get very anxious. We think our kids will not turn out, that we are doing a disservice to them. We are relinquishing some control and it feels funny.
Relax and enjoy your children gravitating to what they love most.
Have an open mind…always be open to learning something new. It keeps us growing and gives us an understanding for new ideas and a fresh perspective into the lives of other people.
Educate yourself on everything unschooling to familiarize yourself and get a refreshing different point of view about how children learn. My book store has a wonderful selection that I thoroughly have enjoyed. We already know all there is about structured learning, so why not gain the new perspective and then decide what is best for your family.
Unschooling homeschooling is a very rewarding way to homeschool. I have 7 children and enjoy watching and being apart of all of their everyday learning experiences, as they are with me. This world is full of learning opportunities… let your children experience it for themselves. It will create self-thinkers. Whereas they are not dependent on other people to learn. Whenever my children do not know something, I watch, and every time they seek out what they want to know. Whether it be studying it via internet or calling different business to getting the books they need to answer their questions. No doubt about it, children when given the freedoms to explore and understand and learn without forced dry texts gain a tremendous amount of knowledge. I am constantly amazed of what they love and what they know. Unschooling is a family experience, where learning never stops.
